Indy Parks and Recreation Visit
The Indy Parks environmental education staff will teach the children about winter climate and snow! Mallory will focus on cold dwelling animals in the state of Indiana as she discusses hibernation, scavenging and natural defenses animals have against cold weather. The naturalist from Indy Parks will bring in a variety of resources to help the children develop a love of nature and a desire to preserve our natural resources.

Week of Caring
During the week of caring the children will participate in classroom activities, school-wide projects and lessons that promote kindness, empathy for others and contributing to their community.
Pajama Day!
We all love to wear our pajamas and its extra special when we get to wear them to school! Bring your child to school in their PJ’s for this fun day, but please be sure to bring in tennis shoes for them to wear as well.
Drive in Movie Night
We invite you to join us for a fun night of popcorn and a movie projected in the gym! To add to the fun, we ask families to help their child create a “car” out of a box that the children can sit in and enjoy their movie like a real drive-in!
Scholastic Book Fair
Scholastic books will be available for purchase the week of February 4th – 8th! This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your child’s love of reading, while supplying our classrooms with additional books as well!

Valentines's Party
Our classrooms will celebrate the season of love by sharing valentines with their friends, and enjoying a party in their classroom! Look for a sign-up sheet to be posted for the classroom Valentine’s Day party!
Occupations Week
We would like to acquaint students with the “working world” of our community and expose them to different occupations people can have. We are inviting parents to visit our classrooms and discuss their occupations and roles they have at work. Would you consider coming to your child’s classroom during the week of the 18th – 22nd and sharing with the children? We will be putting out a sign-up sheet where you can sign up for a time slot.
Water Safety Presentation
Goldfish Swim School will be here to talk to the children about water safety! The children will learn about staying safe while having fun in the water.
Puppet Playtime Show
Don Miller with Family Time Entertainment will put on a puppet show for the kids with a lot of audience participation!

The Villages Household Goods Drive
Funshine will be hosting a household goods drive! We hope to foster empathy in the children and to create an awareness of community needs among the children while we support those less fortunate in our community.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Be sure to sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher this week! This is a time to review your child’s growth and development and go over their developmental portfolio.
Spring/Graduation Picture Day
The photographer will be out to take Spring photos of the children! We will also have our Pre-K graduation pictures done at this time! Each child will have their photo taken on their specified day, and sibling pictures will be done on Wednesday. Pictures will be available for purchase the same day!
Holliday Park Field Trip
Jr. Pre, Sr. Pre and Pre-K classes will be riding a school bus to Holliday Park for an educational and fun field trip in the nature center. Parents are welcome to attend as chaperones on this field trip. Look for additional information and permission forms during the month of March!
Spring Musical
Join us for our Spring musical Friday April 12th Wee Care,. Jr. Pre-K, Sr. Pre-K and Pre-K classes will perform at a designated time in the morning. Please see your child’s invitation in the Spring!

Easter Egg Hunt and Classroom Parties
The Easter Bunny will be here to hide Easter eggs, and visit with the children! We will enjoy party treats, games, and of course, an Easter egg hunt on our playground!
