Funshine’s Jr. and Sr. Toddler programs encourage exploration, independence and friendship through age appropriate and hands-on activities. Our Jr. Toddler program is designed for children ages 12 months to 16 months. The Jr. Toddler classroom provides a flexible environment where children can transition to a structured and routine-based environment. Your child will learn many independent skills such as eating at a table with a spoon, sleeping on a cot, and following a nap schedule. Our Sr. Toddler program is designed for children 16 months to 2 years. Age appropriate hands-on activities are planned daily that are intended to build their independence, curiosity, and social and emotional skills. Our Sr. Toddlers will enjoy hands on sensory experiences such as “cooking” (exploring textures and mixing and measuring ingredients), scooping and pouring rice and sand, “writing” in whipped cream and pudding and squishing play dough and finger paint. All of these activities are not only messy good fun, but also help to strengthen fine motor muscle development and early mathematic reasoning skills.
Health, hygience and safety are our top priority! We have secure entrances and require written approval for any guest pick-ups. Toys and equipment are sanitized throughout the day, and as they are placed in children's mouths. A professional cleaning company cleans and disinfects each evening, and the floor rugs are professionally cleaned quarterly and spot treated as needed.
All of our Toddler Teachers are certified in Infant/Toddler First Aid and CPR. In addition to being highly qualified, they are experienced, dedicated and loving.
Funshine uses an easy to use app & web based parent communication and family involvement tool called Daily Connect. Daily Connect provides real time communication of diaper changes, feedings, activities and photo's are shared throughout the day.
Our toddler class is separated into a Jr. Toddler classroom and a Sr. Toddler classroom. Each program encourage exploration, independence and friendship through age appropriate and hands-on activities. Our Jr. Toddler program is designed for children ages 12 months to 16 months and provides a flexible environment where children can transition to a structured and routine-based environment. Our Sr. Toddler program is designed for children 16 months to 2 years and continues to build children's independence while providing additional learning experiences and enrichment activities.
Sign Language and Spanish begin in our infant classroom, children progress toward a stronger understanding through daily planned activities in each classroom. Evidence suggests that learning how to sign can enhance young children’s brain function, boost their self-esteem, and give them a concrete (and appropriate) way to express emotions and enhances literacy skills. Signing at an early age also facilitates communication and is an effective tool to promote a more comfortable learning environment and initiates an interest and enthusiasm for learning.
The philosophy behind our curriculum is that young children learn best by doing. Learning isn’t just repeating what someone else says; it requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn firsthand about the world we live in. In their early years, children explore the world around them by using all their senses and having fun! Check out one of our lesson plans plans to explore how we use intentional fun to foster development!

The Rominger'sI am so grateful for the care my children received at Funshine! From day one, both kids loved coming to Funshine. They loved all their teachers, the programs, the field trips, and all their little friends here. Doug and I never had to worry. The love, caring and compassion of the teachers always made them (and us) feel welcome. I’ve recommended Funshine to many parents over the years and will continue to do so. The teachers work so hard and teach them so much. Jack and Audrey were both well-prepared for Kindergarten (although Aud would be happy to stay here forever!) Thank you so much!
Kyle OvermyerFunshine provides my family with peace of mind knowing that my girls are in amazing hands throughout the day when I am at work. The teachers are extraordinary! they are so loving toward all the children and parents. My children love the people they interact with everyday; teachers, kids, and office staff! Funshine is an amazing place!
The Miller FamilyAll of my children, now 10, 8 and 7 attended Funshine. The teachers genuinely cared for each of my children. We went back to visit and my children were able to visit with all of their old preschool teachers. They were just as loving as I remembered and greeted us with warm hugs, old pictures and great stories. I miss my Funshine family and will be sure to visit more often. I highly recommend Funshine for the following reasons: Caring Teachers, Loving Atmosphere, Educational Environment (my children were well prepared for 1st grade and thrived socially), Professional Staff, Clean Facility (with plenty of natural sunlight and a new mural), music, Spanish and gymnastic classes
The Mohler'sMr. DeWayne's Pre-K program could not have prepared my son any better for Kindergarten! He learned to read and complete basic book reports before leaving Funshine. Miss Wendy is very gifted at understanding each child as a unique individual and prides herself on preparing them for Pre-K .
Sheri WoodFunshine offers a safe environment to leave your child with no worries while you are at work. There are small student/teacher ratios so everyone knows you as well as your child. The caring, trusting, and friendsly staff keeps my 4 year old wanting to go back to preschool daily, she loves going! My child loes her teachers/staff, and fun and creative learning experiences. I also like the extra's for example; field trips, book mobile library, Soccer Shots program and the Holiday Park program.
