Funshine’s Infant Program has been specially designed to create a warm and secure environment for each infant. Our experienced and caring staff have a passion for nurturing and caring for young children. Teachers focus on the development and care of each child as an individual. Babies work on developmentally appropriate activities like tummy time, hand eye coordination play, practicing pincer grip, activities such as sensory exploration, crawling and standing skills, music and movement and most importantly are provided a lot of love and affection.
Health, hygience and safety are our top priority! We have secure entrances and require written approval for any guest pick-ups. Toys and equipment are sanitized throughout the day, and as they are placed in children's mouths. A professional cleaning company cleans and disinfects each evening, and the floor rugs are professionally cleaned quarterly and spot treated as needed.
All of our Infant Teachers are certified in Infant/Toddler First Aid, CPR and Safe Sleep Practices. In addition to being highly qualified, they are experienced, dedicated and loving. Ms. Donna opened our infant classroom over 10 years ago, and Ms. Rosana has been with Funshine for 6 years.
At Funshine we have an open-door policy. We welcome and encourage parents wishing to visit their child during the day. A separate room is available for mothers wishing to breastfeed or grandparents who would like to visit.
The philosophy behind our curriculum is that young children learn best by doing. Learning isn’t just repeating what someone else says; it requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn firsthand about the world we live in. In their early years, children explore the world around them by using all their senses and having fun! Check out one of our lesson plans plans to explore how we use intentional fun to foster development!
Funshine uses an easy to use app & web based parent communication and family involvement tool called Daily Connect. Daily Connect provides real time communication of diaper changes, feedings, activities and photo's are shared throughout the day.
Our infant class is separated into two different classrooms. Our infant classroom has baby’s ages 6 weeks to around 8 months. When children begin crawling, they “graduate” to our Waddler classroom, where there is additional space for them to develop crawling, and soon walking skills. The Waddlers participate in different sensory development experiences, like painting and active play in our indoor gym.
Sign Language and Spanish begin in our infant classroom with basic communication and motor skill development being the focus. Research on baby sign language has found that teaching baby signs improved cognitive and emotional development. Far from slowing down speech, baby sign language actually increases the rate of verbal development and at the same time increases the parent/child bond.
Choosing the right care for your infant is one of the most importance decisions you will make for your child. We understand the importance of this decision and are dedicated to providing the very best care for your family. Our teachers and staff will provide a loving, nurturing, and engaging experience for your little one from day one.Schedule a tour!
The Rominger'sI am so grateful for the care my children received at Funshine! From day one, both kids loved coming to Funshine. They loved all their teachers, the programs, the field trips, and all their little friends here. Doug and I never had to worry. The love, caring and compassion of the teachers always made them (and us) feel welcome. I’ve recommended Funshine to many parents over the years and will continue to do so. The teachers work so hard and teach them so much. Jack and Audrey were both well-prepared for Kindergarten (although Aud would be happy to stay here forever!) Thank you so much!
Kyle OvermyerFunshine provides my family with peace of mind knowing that my girls are in amazing hands throughout the day when I am at work. The teachers are extraordinary! they are so loving toward all the children and parents. My children love the people they interact with everyday; teachers, kids, and office staff! Funshine is an amazing place!
The Miller FamilyAll of my children, now 10, 8 and 7 attended Funshine. The teachers genuinely cared for each of my children. We went back to visit and my children were able to visit with all of their old preschool teachers. They were just as loving as I remembered and greeted us with warm hugs, old pictures and great stories. I miss my Funshine family and will be sure to visit more often. I highly recommend Funshine for the following reasons: Caring Teachers, Loving Atmosphere, Educational Environment (my children were well prepared for 1st grade and thrived socially), Professional Staff, Clean Facility (with plenty of natural sunlight and a new mural), music, Spanish and gymnastic classes
The Mohler'sMr. DeWayne's Pre-K program could not have prepared my son any better for Kindergarten! He learned to read and complete basic book reports before leaving Funshine. Miss Wendy is very gifted at understanding each child as a unique individual and prides herself on preparing them for Pre-K .
Sheri WoodFunshine offers a safe environment to leave your child with no worries while you are at work. There are small student/teacher ratios so everyone knows you as well as your child. The caring, trusting, and friendsly staff keeps my 4 year old wanting to go back to preschool daily, she loves going! My child loes her teachers/staff, and fun and creative learning experiences. I also like the extra's for example; field trips, book mobile library, Soccer Shots program and the Holiday Park program.
